Since 2005, the Chicago-based non-profit called Green Star Movement has helped more than 6,000 students be involved in the creation of artistic murals.  There have been over 100 murals developed in schools, parks, highway underpasses and community centers throughout the city.  This organization aims to inspire students and community members through the creation of public art.

Green Star Movement focuses on using a specific type of mural art called 'bricolage' which combines tile, mirror, painting, and sculpture.  Teaching Artists, like myself, and Project Managers were able to organize and instruct volunteers, students and community members about this process from start to finish.
